Carpet Moth

Know The 9 Step Process To The Cleanest, Healthiest Carpet

Carpet moths are harmless but it is their larvae that you need to be worried about. Each female moth will lay around 200 hundred eggs in their lifetime. The larvae will chew on your carpet and other textiles for up to 30 months before pupating.  The larvae can cause some very expensive damage!

How can you see if you have a moth infestation?

You will notice small balding patches in the corners and at the edges of your carpets.  You will see some ilk-like casings which is the cocoon of the larvae. The damage is usually under furniture and in dark areas of the rooms. If you don’t act now, the damage will continue and get worse!

Art of Clean is proud to have passed the accreditation to apply insecticide. This is the best way to make sure the larvae are killed before they can eat more! Give us a call on 01223 863632 and we will see how we can help.

Carpet Moth Prevention

Keep your home as clean as possible. Vacuum weekly everywhere and ensure you vacuum around the edges of the room where the skirting board meets the carpet. Move furniture and clean under all units and other items of furniture that are not normally moved. Moths like dark undisturbed places. So by doing this you will make your home unsuitable for moths to lay their eggs!
